Crossroads

Four-Channel Video and Sound Installation - 7 min. loop - 2009/2010

Crossroads is a video environment I have shown in two versions, one at The Art Gym at Marylhurst University and the other at PORTLAND2010, a regional biennial in the Northwest. The installation was in the round, with four video channels and eight speakers. The imagery of Crossroads draws from American Blues folklore, 1970’s car chase films, and the always-popular tension between humans and machines. Crossroads expands the spatial sleight of hand practiced in my previous work, turning the edit of cinematic montage on its edge and allowing viewers to be immersed in the space between cuts.
