I was asked by PNCA (where I teach) to create a short-term blog to give additional insight into my recently completed Character project. In addition to writing about the project, I posted a few images and video clips from the drawing sessions. The blog is HERE.

In the midst of a busy Fall, I somehow neglected to post a news item about Couture'08 at the New American Art Union in Portland. Ruth Ann Brown, owner of the NAAU, has awarded ten $8000 stipends for a series of shows beginning in 2008 and bleeding into 2009. I am proud to say that I received one of the awards for an upcoming video installation titled Chemical Valley Hardcore.I want to give a HUGE shout-out to Ruth Ann for having the guts to fund noncommercial projects!

It's been a while since my last news update so I will report on a few fairly recent activities. I just updated the "motion" section of this site with documentation of my December 2006 installation Chain Reaction. My video The Birthday screened as part of Karl Lind and Gallery Homeland's Odds and Ends 2 in July.
I made a site-specific dual video projection called Radius: SE Portland for AudioCinema's ACVC 2 in August.
I was part of a discussion panel for PICA's TBA Festival on September 13 at PNCA. My fellow panelists included Hooliganship, Andrew Dickson, and some folks from Urban Honking. The subject was New Media and Performance and Stephanie Snyder (the moderator) moved the conversation along smoothly.
A newly published book of West Coast Art features some images and writing about my work. The book is titled Downy Bird Art Kingdom and it's available here for $20. There is a release party at Onsix Gallery in SF September 28.
I vow to be better about keeping up on my news updates!
